Objective:
Seeking contracts and sub-contracts for landscape and garden services.
Demonstrated Skills and Abilities:
Landscape Maintenance and Renovation:
- Wide range of landscape and garden maintenance skills including: plant pruning, bed preparation, planting and transplanting, and winterizing landscapes.
- Familiar with the operation and basic servicing of a range of landscape maintenance equipment.
- Able to identify 250+ commonly used ornamental landscape plants, seasonal bedding plants, bulbs, and tropical foliage plants.
Landscape Design:
- Able to read and interpret landscape design drawings and communicate professionally with others in the field.
- Able to prepare and present comprehensive landscape designs.
- Able to design annual bedding and bulb displays and decorative bark-mulch displays.
Landscape Installation and Construction:
- Able to prepare sites and install aggregate and paving stone materials and construct various standard retaining walls and timber structures.
- Understanding of installation, operation, and maintenance procedures for residential and commercial irrigation systems.
- Experienced in site preparation procedures for the planting and installation of ornamental landscape plants and turf.
Additional Horticulture and Landscaping Experience:
- Thoroughly acquainted with greenhouse environments and various propagation and production methods.
- Able to develop grounds maintenance schedules for residential and commercial landscapes.
- Understanding of estimation and quotation process and familiar with contract composition.
Education and Certification:
- Certificate in Horticulture and Landscaping, Capilano College, April 2002.
- Various courses with a focus on Geography and Urban Planning, Simon Fraser University
- Valid Class 5 Province of British Columbia driver’s license.
- WHIMIS trained.
